Hello Curse fans,
Normally we're able to push out updates without anyone really noticing, but tonight's update will require some extensive database work that will require us to take the entire site offline for up to an hour. While I'll obviously try to complete this as quickly as possible, I'm sure you'll appreciate the diligence in doing it correctly =)
All '*.curse.com' sites will be unavailable starting 10pm EST for approximately one hour, while new website code is deployed and database changes are performed.
Here are some of the changes going live, for those of you reading this far:
- Extensive portal rearchitecture to enable multi-game portals
- The first change paves the way for the relaunch of our Free to Play (F2P) portal that will be brought online soon after the upgrade.
- Changes to help guide users through the password recovery system
- Some sexy new layout changes.
- Donations to addon authors can now be made on the addon details and download pages. Show the authors of your favorite addons your support, especially in light of Blizzard's recent ruling on in-game advertisement.
- Improvements to the Contest and Key Giveaway systems.
- Numerous bug fixes for issues reported on our forums.
Sorry for the inconvenience, this is the first rollout we've had to disable the site to complete since the launch of the new Curse v6 site in September.
