This July, the developers of Darkfall are planning to release its first expansion since launch. Darkfall is of course the hotly anticipated PvP MMO which released to unfortunate server issues earlier this year.
Now that the issues are taken care of, Aventurine is looking to expand the game's content substantially with this update. The details below are bullet-points, but you can find out more here. Suffice to say, this looks like a fairly hefty update.
- Massive PvE Monster Re-balancing
- Weapon Re-balancing
- Armor Re-balancing
- Crafting price Adjustments
- Player Housing
- The Village System
- Character Specialization System
- Clan City Crafter Income
- Darkfall's Weather System
- Title Quests
- Compass
- New Mount
- Sithra - New elemental weapon
- Skill & Spell Books
- Special Attribute consumables
- Random Treasure Chests
- The Nexus System
- And more...
As you can see, this is a lengthy list of features for the game's first expansion. Aventurine has included a lot more details about them on the expansion page, so head over and take a look.

Things were not running smoothly, that's true,
but you don't have to be so negative before you even try it -p
Too many issues, things that should have been quick to fix (or fixed before launch) took ages. The shop was a pain to even buy the game. True the shop may be open now, but they should have never restricted sales in the first place. They should have had the means necessary to accommodate at the very least the one server they had from the start. Not to mention, WTF kind of company launches with ONE server anyway?
MMO's aren't "new" anymore, regardless of never making one, they shouldn't have done some of the things they are doing.. and apparently are STILL doing.
And ofc I won't deny all the issues that you mentioned, since they were/are true.
Aventurine is a 'tiny' company and their decision to launch the game without the 'help' of a famous/large distributor affected everything:
-one server at launch
-a lot of server/connection issues
-billing issues
etc etc
That's why they called it "a staged release".
Was all this a big mistake?
That's up to the players to decide.
P.S. I am not a Darkfall fanboy. Just a long-term follower...
