More than a few members of the Defiance community have been reporting that after pre-ordering Defiance on Amazon.com, they have not received their promised beta key. According to the product listing, players would receive a beta key for Defiance after pre-ordering the game on any platform but, unfortunately, this isn't how things have been happening.
As this is a pretty serious breach in player expectations, Trion Worlds has gotten involved personally, promising to get to the bottom of the delay.
Posted earlier this morning on the Defiance homepage, community manager Myll_Erik said, "Working on this today folks - I've been asking questions and hunting people down trying to get this resolved."
For their part, Amazon isn't standing idly by while customers are left out in the dark. They are aware of the situation and are addressing user concerns individually, requesting more information so that they can properly address the issue. One user heard back from Amazon's UK branch, who sent the following:
Hello,
I understand that you want to know when would you receive the Beta Key for the "Defiance: Ultimate Edition (PC CD)".
I have checked your order and can see that the item is scheduled to dispatch April 2, 2013.
We will send you the beta key for the game as soon as the order gets dispatched.
If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Finally, we would like to express our gratitude for the patience you've displayed thus far.
Thank you for shopping at Amazon.co.uk.
We hope to see you again.

Unfortunately, that doesn't really solve the immediate concern but hopefully it will be taken care of soon. With Trion Worlds looking into it personally, hopefully they can put a little pressure on Amazon to expedite the process to ensure that players who pre-ordered there can get access to the game before this weekend's Advanced Mission Beta 2!
