Eve gets Steamed

Apparently Steam, the online media distribution portal owned by Valve , is going MMO with Eve Online. CCP have added their MMOG in trial form to Steams ever growing library of titles.

For those of you who aren't aware, Eve Online is only available as a download from the Eve webstie and is completely free. The cost comes when you want to play longer than the trial allows you to.

If Eve Online is a permanent addition to Steam, could we now see the Eve client cost some money or will it continue to be free?

For the time being, this comes as big news for Steam users and MMOers alike, who can now get yet another top game through the game distribution portal.

CCP already pay bandwith for stuff downloaded trought their website...
paying Steam of their ISP is the same..

Steam also get "pub" and newcomer... once you got steam software, you got load of trials and software to try... temptation is the ennemy of the gamers :-)

It'll be interesting to see how this works. I don't think Valve would like people downloading a 1.2 GB client (Premium Edition) if it's only a free trial unless CCP's willing to help pay the bandwidth bills.
