Well ok, so it's not quite Transformers, but it's looking dead sexy. Prepare yourselves to see EVE Online like you never have before. This winter CCP will be further expanding their sci-fi universe with "Trinity." CCP always adds oodles of new content to the game with each expansion, but this time they're going a step beyond normalcy by introducing a brand-new graphics engine to the feature set.
The current engine is being upgraded to a DirectX 9.0 generation, as shown off in the video below - from the Games Convention in Leipzig Germany.
var FO_68 = { movie:"http://dev.curse-gaming.com/static/flash/flvplayer.swf", width:"500", height:"350", majorversion:"7", build:"0", bgcolor:"#FFFFFF", allowfullscreen:"true", flashvars:"file=http://videos.cursebeta.com/stream2/premium/689.flv&autostart=true" }; $("#flvplayer_68").click(function(event) { UFO.create(FO_68, "flvplayer_68"); $(this).unbind('click'); });It's not just a new engine, though; the CCP team has been hard at work rebuilding everything from ships to stargates to station exteriors and interiors to take advantage of newer graphics cards and provide a breathtaking experience.
Keep an eye out for new Tech II ships that show off the engine's power to its fullest; Black Ops, Marauders and Heavy Interdictors are all represented, as well as the Electronic Attack Ships and Jump Freighters.
There's also going to be new PvE content added: hundreds of kill missions, and improved drone management, to name a few.
Keep an eye to the stars, or just head over to http://www.eve-online.com for all the info on Trinity as it unfolds.
