EVE Online Inferno Expansion Launching May 22nd

CCP plans to revamp the way PvP works in EVE Online with the popular MMO's upcoming expansion Inferno. Today, the team announced that Inferno will be launching on May 22nd of this year.

The plans that CCP has are to revamp EVE's war declaration system and bring in more ships and modules to PvP. The war declaration system, or wardec for short, is the system that CCP put in place to allow corporations or aliiances formally declare war between one another. When at war with each other, there are more legal targets that become available as opposed to when war has not been declared. The wardec system will include an easier to navigate user interface, allowing players to follow the progress of wars in the galaxy more easily.

The update also includes a brand new mercenary marketplace and marks the first time that an EVE Online expansion will be preempted by a separate patch. CCP plans to roll out a patch that will introduce some new content shortly before the Inferno expansion goes live on May 22nd.
