EverQuest II developer Noel Walling has been interviewed by EverQuest II Players.
Noel used to work as a Game Master for the classic EverQuest before he got his position on the EQ II development team. He joined the team a year before EQ II launched. Currently his main tasks are to work together with the design team. He's done a lot of different things throughout his time, though. Some of his tasks has included, system design, level design and raid & group instance encounters.
One of his favorite things with his job is to put together group instances. I would probably feel the same way about that, using all your creativity and imagination in order to come up with a great experience for the players, in form of a dungeon. That must be a blast. The only downside as I can see from that probably would be how some of the ideas might seem great in your mind or on paper -- but is a lot harder to put into motion and reality.
The interview is rather lengthy and contain some great information about Noel and EQ II as a whole, read it here.
