The producer of EverQuest II, Bruce "Froech" Ferguson just had his June 2008 EQ II Producer's Letter published.
In this letter he's going through what the summer will have in store for all EverQuest II players and there's quite a bit to be excited over. How about the 'Gathering Tempest' event that is designed for players of all levels to be involved in the storyline which will eventually lead to the next expansion. We recently wrote a Preview of “Gathering Tempest;” The next EQ2 Update.
He go on and tell us how Gathering Tempest is only one of multiple live events that will happen up till the new expansion is out. As previously mentioned by yours truly, I went over that Runnyeye will be out in the same game update. Bruce calls this "a completely invigorated experience".
Extra experience weekends, special offers to those who's playing Legends of Norrath the trading card game and later in July the second part of the "Gathering Tempest" event will take place, all citizens of Norrath are called to arms to defeat the beasts who are trying to leave the Void Storms and come through to Norrath.
Furthermore, in August Veksar will be added to the world of Norrath! This is exciting news, I loved the Veksar zone in EverQuest Classic. It was a great and dark, mysterious and very fun to explore zone with interesting lore to uncover and mini bosses to slay. There were a rumor of a bigger boss as well, which might have been uncovered, but I never did due to being too busy raiding. EQ2's Veksar will introduce a big questline which involves a murder, you are encouraged to solve it through a new line of quests.
