EverQuest II has a new update out today with content for all players, though some of it requires the Destiny of Velious expansion pack.
Titled "Children of War," game update 60 introduces the fortress of Drunder to EverQuest II for the first time. This new area comes in the form of three new heroic dungeons, three 4x raid zones and a new 2x raid for players to pillage.
While players will need Destiny of Velious enabled on their account to access Drunder, the other content in the update is available to everyone -- regardless of where their account stands in terms of expansions, subscriptions or otherwise.
Included in that content are big improvements to the PvP and battleground systems. A new lobby system has been added, allowing players to stick together in a single location between battles if they so choose, complete with PvP vendors.
There's also a new Velious-themed battleground, "The Frozen Tundra," as well as the new battleground game type "Vanquish." To go along with this new PvP content, players will find the Velious Discord faction that will offer all-new PvP equipment and adornments.
Rounding out the update is a new interface layout for the adornment system, two new Heritage quests, an additional signature quest line, and new tradeskill quests and recipes.
