Square Enix has added support for direct subscriptions to their popular MMO Final Fantasy XIV. The previous system required users to purchase Crysta, a virtual currency, that could be then traded for a subscription to the game.
The trouble with that system, however, was that users ended up having to buy more Crysta then necessary for their subscription. Square Enix heard the requests in the community and has thus added direct subscriptions. What this allows users to do is tie a credit or debit card to their account and make subscription purchases directly from their bank card. This effectively eliminates the need for a virtual currency and will definitely please frustrated users.
