Gears of War 3 developer Epic Games has just spilled the beans on the game's second DLC add-on, RAAM's Shadow.
The content is due out on December 13th and brings a wealth of gameplay to the game's single player campaign as well as a few bonuses to multiplayer as well.
The single player addition takes players to the events that precede the original Gears of War game by about 10 - 14 years. In the game's history, Emergence Day occured 14 years before the events of Gears of War 1 and set in motion the war that players experience in all three games. In RAAM's Shadow, players travel back to a time shortly after Emergence Day where they play as members of Zeta squad, including; Michael Barrick from Gears of War comics, Lt. Minh Young Kim from the first game, Tai Kalosi Gears of War 2 and a brand new character, Alicia Valera.
Additionally, players will be able to play as RAAM himself, who is a major enemy boss, as he storms a human-controlled compound.
“RAAM’s imposing size and strength, along with his Kryll shield, make him one of the most powerful and daunting foes in the ‘Gears’ universe,” said Cliff Bleszinski, Epic Games' Design Director. “We think fans are going to have a blast unleashing hell upon the poor humans for the first time in a campaign setting.”
On the multiplayer side of things, players will get six brand new players to fight as and a new Chocolate Weapons set which we believe is going to be an optional weapon skin. More news is coming on November 1st so be sure to stick around!
