Epic Games is all set to launch Gears of War 3's latest DLC, Fenix Rising. The content pack features some brand new multiplayer maps and skins but at the forefront of it all, is a brand new game mechanics.
The re-up mechanic will be familiar to anyone who has played a Call of Duty game in the past 5 years or so. It is similar to that franchise's Prestige mechanic. Essentially, what the re-up mechanic does is offer you a chance for glory by starting your level progression over once you reach level 100. Level 100 players can opt to start back over at level 1, resetting most but not all of their progression.
Choosing to re-up in Gears of War 3 will give you bragging rights and a custom colored player icon, letting everyone you play with know that you've achieved some pretty impressive feats in the game.

I didn't have enough cash to buy this DLC, but luckily I found a site giving away some free Fenix
Rising codes, so I'm playing it, and enjoying it very much, definitely my favorite DLC so far.
