On February 22nd, ArenaNet announced beta sign-ups for their upcoming MMORPG, Guild Wars 2. After the 48-hour sign-up period ended, the tally reached one million. Their highest peaks reached 4,000 applications per minute coming in from all seven continents.
“We built Guild Wars 2 with the notion to bring players together to experience what a true online world experience should be, and we couldn’t be more excited with the reception we’re receiving from gamers wanting to get in and play our game,” said Mike O’Brien, president of ArenaNet and executive producer of Guild Wars 2.
NCsoft has also announced that the beta will open late-March to help test gameplay, World versus World (WvW) and to load test their servers.
