ArenaNet has already set a precedent for exceedingly awesome and content-filled updates, with only a few months since launch. The Mad King Halloween event has been widely acclaimed as one of the best holiday events in an MMORPG, and players are excited to find out what comes next!
The Lost Shores is Guild Wars 2's next big update, promising quite a load of new features ushered in by a massive one-time in-game event. Here's what you can expect:
- A mysterious zone to explore, accessible to all players regardless of level
- A challenging new dungeon to conquer
- A new PvP map set within a Kodan dojo
- New gear to acquire, ranging from additional weapons skins to item enhancements to an additional tier of items between Exotic and Legendary.
- Crafting updates including a new resource to harvest and 200 new recipes
- A one-time in-game event that will forever leave its mark on the world of Tyria, starting Friday, November 16 and ending Monday, November 19.
You can also finally drag your stubborn friends into the game, as they can play for free from November 15th until the 18th after receiving an invite from a player who has purchased the game. Each can invite up to three friends, so be sure to stock up on snacks and make a LAN party of it!
Details on the in-game event haven't been disclosed as of yet, however a schedule has been released for that and the free weekend so you'll know when to hop on:

This looks fantastic. This article is a bit less vague than the other ones, hopefully you guys are correct when meaning that they are adding a new tier level. If so, then it should be craftable. Which means ANet keep their promise, to make gear that is statistically perfect achievable via crafting. Love some of these features that are coming in! Well, I'm definitly going to be playing some more GW2 for a few days now.
This info is directly from ANet, so hopefully it's true! Glad you enjoyed.
I'm going to have to stop playing my alts for a while this week to experience the new stuff and see what it takes to get the exotics.5, or whatever they're going to end up calling them.
