IndieGameCave, Curse's premiere Indie game coverage YouTube channel, today brings you a double whammy: A playthrough of Okabu, and a developer commentary of Derrick the Deathfin!
HandCircus is a small London studio started by Simon Oliver. It initially made its name with unique touch-screen platformer Rolando, putting their publisher, ngmoco, on the map. Both ngmoco and HandCircus then worked on Okabu, which uses a pseudo-3D view to give it a more impressive graphical look than the original.
In the above video, Pico and Olly take you on a journey through a tactile toybox world filled with puzzles, adventures, adorable creatures, and best of all - destructive machines. The vibrant art style and cute gameplay will captivate you.
Okabu is coming soon for PS3 - visit their official site for more information.
We had indie developer Gordon Midwood walk us through the amazing paper craft-esque world of Derrick the Deathfin! This charming action game takes place within an ocean of paper; players control the vengeful Derrick, who is hell-bent on avenging his parents' soupy death with a little worldwide destruction. OK, so maybe that's not exactly helpful retribution-wise, but it certainly makes him feel better!
The game consists of 32 vibrant levels, 11 environments, and 4 continents to play and explore, and is coming to PSN this summer! Visit http://derrickthedeathfin.com/ for a trailer and future updates.
