UTV True Games today kicked off the closed beta for Mytheon, a free-to-play mythological MMO, after a rather lengthy hiatus due to a transition in who is actually developing the game.
"We're excited to share this legendary journey through ancient mythological worlds and larger than-life characters with gamers," said Peter Cesario, Director of Product Development at UTV True Games. "Our focus with Mytheon is to deliver some of the most innovative and compelling content giving our players the ultimate action-RPG gameplay experience."
UTV True Games, while previously the publisher, has now also assumed development of the title -- shifting all control to the company. As of this writing, it appears that Petroglyph no longer has anything to do with Mytheon after a lawsuit last year.
The company originally took Petroglyph to court with claims that Petroglyph failed to deliver a complete, polished game. And with today's news, this looks to be true as the game has just now entered closed beta.
