After a slight delay, Valve today announced that pre-orders for Portal 2 are now available. Releasing on April 18, 2011, the game can now be pre-ordered on Steam at 10% off, or through various retail outlets worldwide.
Retail distribution, handled by EA, offers a variety of pre-order perks depending on where you decide to purchase your copy of the game. This includes discounts on the cost of the game, as well as unique in-game content like exclusive skins for the coop bots, Atlas and P-Body. Valve recommends checking in with your local retailers, as they don't have a full list of perks provided by each.
"Portal 2 is shaping up to be the most innovative title in Valve's history, and to be a much larger experience than we originally planned," said Doug Lombardi, vice president of marketing at Valve. "As such, we are aggressively promoting the title with more retail promotions than we have put behind any prior release."
The game is going to be available worldwide for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Mac. Valve is really going all out with this one.
