Paramount Digital Entertainment today unveiled the next Star Trek game, set to debut next week during the E3 Expo in Los Angeles, CA.
Based on the 2009 movie, Star Trek will allow gamers to play as Captain Kirk and Spock for the first time ever, in a co-op experience touting an original story.
The game continues the adventures of Kirk and Spock in J.J. Abrams acclaimed 2009 rendition of Star Trek, boasting a stand alone story in which Kirk and Spock must work together to prevent an enemy race from seizing control of the galaxy.
“Star Trek challenges the boundaries of co-op gameplay with a galactic adventure that gamers and fans have never experienced,” said Tom Lesinski, President of Paramount Digital Entertainment. Paramount has worked closely with the Star Trek filmmaking crew throughout the game's development process.
The story has been written by award winning God of War writer Marianne Krawczyk, in collaboration with writer/producers from the new Star Trek films, Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman.
Star Trek is being developed by Digital Extremes and is scheduled to ship summer 2012 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
