Today marks the start of pre-orders for Rift, Trion Worlds' upcoming next-gen MMO which will be launching March 1, 2011. The above video is a new TV spot to advertise the start of pre-orders, which proudly exclaims "We're not in Azeroth anymore."
Indeed, Telara is a vastly different world, and players who pre-order will have a chance to experience it even before the official release. Anyone who pre-orders will gain access to all of the remaining beta events, and will also be eligible to participate in the head-start scheduled to begin February 24, 2011.
In addition to that, you get all of the pre-order exclusives for your chosen edition of the game. And the nice thing is that Trion Worlds is offering a Digital Collector's Edition for purchase directly from them, for $59.99 USD. That's only $10 more than the standard edition and provides you with a larger backpack, a mount and an in-game pet.
It's important to note that purchasing a digital version of the Collector's Edition will not give you access to all of the in-box goodies like the soundtrack, USB drive and SteelSeries mouse pad. You'll still need to pre-order from one of the available retailers for that.
