RIFT has a new update coming in one week, according to a new release we've obtained from Trion Worlds. Patch 1.3 promises to drown Telara in madness, introducing the new 20-player raid zone of Hammerknell.
Hammerknell looks to be the most challenging content players have faced so far in RIFT. The new raid dungeon includes three wings, 10 bosses and lore that sees the forces of Water and Death attempting to break down its doors to awaken a terrible evil.
Players will also be happy to know that RIFT 1.3 includes the recently announced free character transfer system, allowing players to transfer to new servers absolutely free. "MMOs are all about playing with your friends no matter which server they're on, and that's why we're offering this as a free service to our subscribers," said Scott Hartsman, Executive Producer of RIFT in the original announcement.
The update also introduces the long awaited guild feature, Guild Bank, as well as new item sets, character accessories and new artifacts.
As with previous patches, Trion Worlds plans to usher in the update by way of a world event, this one called "Waves of Madness," which will go live alongside the update on June 22nd in North America and June 23rd in Europe.
There was no mention of addon support for RIFT 1.3, so we'll be sure to provide an update when we learn more on the status of the new addon system being introduced to the game.
