Hi-Rez Studios has now confirmed that the Closed Beta for action-MOBA SMITE will begin tomorrow, Thursday May 31st.
The closed beta playable build will consist of 17 playable gods from five mythological pantheons, on a fire-themed map. Five gods are initially available for free - Artemis, Ra, Kali, Ymir, and Sun WuKong - with more unlockable either through gameplay or microtransations. More gods and other content will be added throughout the beta period and beyond.
In addition, the studio has stated that no character wipes are planned during Beta. Advancement like unlocks and progression will extend beyond Closed Beta, into Open Beta, and even into Release!
SMITE is a new, upcoming free-to-play online battleground between gods. Players will be able to choose from several mythologies' worth of gods to play, join session-based arena combat, and use custom powers and team tactics against other player-controlled gods and non-player controlled minions.
