Razorwire over at Warcray claimed back in December -- yes, we were late to the party -- that the screenshot Perpetual released to calm fears that Star Trek Online was not going well, which it wasn't, was fake. You can see why -- to mock the whole thing, Razor added a Deathstar. Looks good Razor. Maybe you could get Homer Simpsons head in there somewhere?
Apparently, the NPC dialogue box that is featured in the image is not real and was added by Perpetual using highly sophisticated image manipulation. The only thing that is genuine is the space ship and that's about it.
That entire NPC dialog box never existed inside the client. It was created outside using image manipulation software and then added to the rendered client image. That's right, Perpetual Entertainment gave us a nicely packaged bullshot. So you see how creative they can be. Maybe there was some merit to that Kohnke lawsuit after all.
I'm not going to steal his thunder so if you want to check out the fake screenshot, click here.
In the words of Octale and Hordak -- Let the hate flow! (Alright - I left out the word Wii).
