The official forums for Star Wars: The Old Republic are in a tizzy thanks to the words of John Riccitiello, CEO of Electronic Arts.
In speaking during the William Blair Growth Stock Conference this morning, Riccitiello dropped the news that Star Wars: The Old Republic has a "high scale beta" coming at the end of June.
He went on to state that the length of the beta will determine the game's release date, so it's still not set in stone. However, those following the game's development will note that EA most recently stated The Old Republic may fall to a January 2012 release during its latest earnings call.
But with this news, it's looking like we may actually see it drop just in time for the holiday season--assuming beta goes smoothly.
We've reached out to BioWare and Electronic Arts for confirmation on just what exactly "high scale beta" means, and will update once we receive any comment.
