BioWare is taking measures to ensure that Star Wars: The Old Republic accounts stay with their owners. New security features are being implemented on the official site, and password requirements are being refreshed.
"Over the next few weeks, we will be sending out emails to everyone who created an account on or before October 21st, 2011 to notify them that their password must be reset. You do not need to take any action prior to receiving an email."
Any SW:TOR community members who have made their accounts prior to October 21st, 2011 will be prompted to update their passwords to conform to the following specifications:
- 8-16 characters long
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one lowercase letter
- At least one number
Anyone who has made an account since that date will not need to take any action.
SWTOR is an upcoming massively-multiplayer game from BioWare and LucasArts. Taking place thousands of years before the rise of Darth Vader, you'll be thrown into the war between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic. Many classic Star Wars roles are available for play, and your decision-making affects your path to either side of the Force.
