The third beta weekend for The Secret World is coming up, starting the 15th of June. Players are invited to explore vast new regions, new storylines and the ‘Hell Rising’ dungeon experience along with the other 1.3 million gamers registered to beta test! This number shatters previous Funcom records, and promises a pretty fun-packed weekend for participants.
“We are very encouraged by both the numbers of beta registrations and the positive feedback we are getting from our testers,” says Funcom CEO Trond Arne Aas. “The fact that so many gamers want to play ‘The Secret World’ combined with the high purchase intent among testers is something we consider a very positive indicator.”
Players will be able to test this weekend:
- The massive region known as The Savage Coast
- Dragon and Illuminati starter experiences
- The Polaris dungeon
- Hell Rising dungeon
- Previous testing regions
This is only a fraction of the content available at launch, but still spans dozens of hours of gameplay for the weekend. The beta event begins on June 15th at 9am PDT and ends on June 17th at 11.59pm PDT,
The Secret World is an upcoming, modern-day MMORPG from Funcom (makers of Anarchy Online and Age of Conan). To be released for PC on July 3rd, 2012, the game blends elements of MMO gameplay with alternate reality gaming and social networking in an original setting with contemporary elements.
Imagine if every myth, conspiracy theory and urban legend was true. Imagine a world where you can become anything you want to be, without restrictions such as classes or levels. This is the premise for The Secret World, Funcom’s upcoming massively multiplayer online game set in the modern-day real world.
