“The Witcher series is based upon the epic stories of Andrzej Sapkowski, and is inspired by the dark times of the Medieval era and the history of Europe. This inspiration gives the series its complex feel, and we're thrilled that it has resonated with players all around the continent. I'm very happy to see that so many gamers supported us and that we won so many awards. Thanks to all our fans!” - Adam Badowski of CD Projekt Red
The team then followed with a well-received presentation of the newly announced REDkit, a mod engine for the RPG.
“We have our own vision for RPGs, they should present an exciting story and give players lots of choices that really matter. The REDkit is designed to create adventures that way – mature, non-linear and engrossing stories set in vivid worlds filled with believable characters.” – said head of the studio Adam Badowski .
This tool will allow modders to create adventures in the world of Geralt of Rivia, giving players the power to create detailed environments and complex, nonlinear quests to go with their very own Witcher story. Modders can now apply for early access to the REDkit over at thewitcher.com/redkit.
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings features a thoroughly engrossing, mature storyline that defines a new standard for realistic,non-linear game narration. In addition to an epic story, the game features a complex combat system that uniquely combines deep tactical elements with dynamic action.
