Wakfu has launched today, February 29th, as a free-to-play MMORPG. For absolutely no cost, players can enjoy a ton of content in Wakfu with continual updates, but if you want to get the most out of the game, you will be able to subscribe for a Premium account.
Premium accounts will run you just $6 per month and will give you access to premium content unavailable to regular players. Additionally, Wakfu will feature a microtransaction based shop for cosmetic items.
“With WAKFU, we are giving more responsibility and freedom to players,” says Anthony Roux, CEO of Ankama and Creative Director of WAKFU. “Their actions have a real impact on not only their character, but also on the environment, as well as on the political and economic life of their nations. We hope that the original experience offered by WAKFU will appeal to players and the game will have the same longevity as DOFUS.”
Wakfu, published by Square Enix and developed by Ankama, is a new MMORPG with tactical turn-based combat and dynamic environments which every player affects through their actions.
