Today we published the latest feature for WarDB: 3D Item Previews. In
phase 1 of its implementation, many "held" items (primarily weapons or
off-hand items) can now be previewed on the website in 3D.
You can find the 3D Previews in two locations:
- On the search results page under each item that has one available, you will see a "3D Preview" link. Clicking on this link will pop up a window in the middle of your browser. A couple seconds later you will see the item model rendered in 3D.
- On the item details page will be a "3D Preview" button within the "Summary" box to the right of the page. Clicking this button will pop up a window in the middle of your browser. A couple seconds later you will see the item model rendered in 3D.
Not all items currently have 3D previews, but we are working to
ensure we have a comprehensive database of models for you to peruse.
Also please remember that this is only phase 1; not only will the
preview window itself improve over the coming weeks, but we also plan
to expand this functionality beyond just "held" items. We would love to
hear your feedback on this new feature, so please visit our 3D Preview Feedback thread and let us know what you think!
Please note that you will need Javascript and Flash enabled on your PC and browser to take advantage of this new feature.
