Wrath just might be too easy...

Sure, the guys over at twentyfifthnovember clearing all available Wrath raid content a couple days after release may not come as a surprise, or set off any alarms, simply because they had experience.  But this.  This is not right, and a definite sign that some of the concerns about the raid content in Wrath of the Lich King being too easy may be true.

Today they went back to Sartharion's lair and completed the Heroic: The Twilight Zone achievement.  This was an achievement mentioned at BlizzCon as a throwback to Zul'Aman, in that it's intended for higher tier guilds than the content is initially designed for.  Yet, there are no higher tiers right now.  You can say all you want about them being devoted players, or that they spend more time than anyone else playing the game (they actually probably don't), but when something is accomplished one to three tiers before it should be, something is definitely awry.

The loot was the same as killing him without the drakes up, you just get more of it.  You can find more screenshots of the kill, the drake mount reward, and others at http://www.twentyfifthnovember.com/.  So, what are your thoughts?  Is this indication that there need to be some tweaks done to the content difficulty?

I have yet to see any argument that this is the best group of WoW players ever assembled. By themselves they were clearing content in record time so together why shouldn't people assume the insane.

I don't think we need to start sounding alarm bells unless other "Mortal" guilds are successfully clearing this content next week with little to no difficulty in progression.

after going to the 25th's website and reading what they had to say i felt that i had to coment on this post, they ask "Did Blizzard miscalculate in the tuning of these encounters? Or is this Blizzard folding under the weight of a large casual player base that demands to be on equal footing with end-game raiders?"
i'm one of those casual players with a small guild so the chance for me to raid alot in bc was small and it took alot of work just to try and get into a raid group.and the last thing i want to do while trying to have fun is work, i do enough of that in the real world so if they (blizz) did make the game ezer to raid then i'm all for it.why you may ask it's simple i feel like i paid money for game content i would never get to see. and the only reason i'm still playing wow is because i heard that they are trying to make the game content where everyone can see and play it. the 25th pple need to understand the game was made to be played by everyone. i know what, you want to do something game changing try taking over a hole country killing everyone for the opp faction. or something hard like that. all you guys did is get the gear and played the same thing over and over until you got it right. then moved on to the next boss and did it again. how many times did they wipe? dose it matter? no... why? because if you wipe you just rez and go back and try try try again until you don't. big deal.
so should we change the game just to make these pple happy? not if blizz wants me to keep paying them. bottom line if it was not for us"casual players" would there be agame?and i think it's funny now what are they gonna do now that they have done it all.but i have read someone who had a good idea about how blizz could make high end guilds happy make a realm just for all the top guilds and make everything in the realm harder to kill plus why we are at it make the realm a pvp realm that way all of these really great guilds can have the harder game to play and better bragging rights because they are not just going against the game but each other. and when i mean each other thats just what i mean so not only would you have to worry about the other faction but you would have to worry about other pple from other guilds in short a horde player could gank anouther horde play from a differnt guild. that would be something to really brag about ... hey i'm in the top guild in a realm where it's every guild for themselfs. but of course that would most likly never happen. wow i wrote alot sorry about that lol and i know my spelling is crappy along with my grammar,

So Yarber what you are saying is, because you don't have as much time to devote as others do, the game should be dumbed down? What is the point of game if there is no distinction between players? It wouldn't be fun if everyone was able to see top end stuff, it would defeat the point of making new raid content. Imagine if all the content of TBC was cleared the FIRST week that it was out. It took a month+ for the content to be cleared. The fact that the world's best guild cleared it in less than a week is insane. They are human, with lives, so they couldn't have played 24 hours a day for a week, so there is obviously something flawed in the current design of the encounters. They cleared everything in one raid reset, so obviously all members weren't completely decked out. There is something flawed with the current design. But to say that the game is fine, because it should be on the level that casual players that play maybe 10-15 hours a week is insane. There would be no point in playing an MMORPG if the game is turned on easy mode. I am sorry that you don't have a guild that is capable of high end raiding content, but there needs to be a challenge, and what is available right now doesn't offer any sort of challenge. What's to happen from now until patch when they release a new instance? Same thing that happened before Sunwell was released. Guilds grow bored, quit, and fall-apart.

    Just my rant.

This is why 99% of all hardcore WoW players have left or are leaving.. but hardcore players represent about 1% of the entire WoW playerbase so who gives a shit about us. Grats to clearing the hardest stuff fast twentyfifth, its not your fault its blizzards. In their effort to pull more money and increase their playerbase they have made everything so easy its not fun. When a guild can clear the best that there is to clear in the brand new expansion.. a week after its out.. there is something wrong. Games are suppose to be easy they are suppose to give you a challenge.. all the cry babies who whined on the forums about not seeing content or getting owned in PvP because someone spent more time getting their gear than you did.. look what you did to a decent game.

So this vocal minority 1% of players should be catered to then? No one forced them to stay logged on from the time the expansion hit. And yes, at least on Windrunner members of the #1 guild who have already done the same achievement as listed here were noted to have not logged out for a period of greater then 50 some hours.

I think here those hardcore raiders have a different opinion of "real life", turning the game into a job where you are on half as many hours (if not more) a night as you spend working each day, is not casual.

While I am willing to wager some activities may have been dumbed down too much, I don't think the 1% need an appology from Blizzard just because they made a concerted effort to blow through the content as fast as humanly possible.

I also think the hardcore raiders of present day are extremely out of touch with the casual raiding player base. As someone who has a "server first achievement" background from Pre=BC, I can safely say that there are many of us out there who do greatly enjoy the challenge. However we want to do it with the people we choose to do it with. And as we all know more often that not the "Hardcore" often bring with them impersonality, rudeness, yelling, and many other traits grown adults don't feel are needed to make something "challenging"

Again, where would we be in Blizzard made all of this content just for the one or two guilds on a given server who only feel special if they blow through everything they can?

Just as you would accuse me of whining and wanting it easy, I would say you're not happy unless you're being an elitist jerk. Learn to share script kiddies, it's ok if we all get to experience the content. We'll go ahead and still pretend your e-peen is the biggest.

I agree that Blizzard has made everything way too easy. Downing maggs or gruuls pre-patch actually made me feel like I achieved something. Going through the instances to get gear to move on to heroics and then eventually raids, thats where the fun was in this game. Actually doing stuff with your friends online. Figuring out the best way to do a boss, thats what i love about this game, but now the challenge is gone. After the patch nobody needed gear to raid, I would help a buddy with a raid after the patch and half the raid would be wearing greens. If wrath ends up like raiding post patch then I'm not sure if i will even keep playing. I would also like to point out that i am not a "hardcore" player. It took me months to get geared to raid, but i enjoyed the time i spent getting that gear.
I think casual players need to think about if they are having fun or just playing for purples.

This is directed more or less at anoff, perhaps others posting here.

Go and try doing some heroics the moment you ding 80. Your gear cant be that great if you felt like you achieved something when downing gruuls. Just a statement, not a flame, Im in the same spot. I have replaced almost all my gear at 80 already and heroics are a LOT harder than anything I did pre-wotlk.

If you are not the top 1-2% of the raiding community (or whatever had all of MH/BT/SWP cleared) wotlk is going to provide some challenge. You probably arent even lvl 80 yet.

Now, back to the thread in general. First, the reason karazhan took time is because to be honest, most people couldnt even do the prequests on normal for the first while of TBC. The gear for tanks was pretty rubbish, warriors were not faceroll tanking and paladins werent even allowed close to tank gear. The itemization for most casters were absolutely horrendous unless you were in AQ20+, people had no idea of game mechanics etc.

TLDR, the difference between vanilla and TBC was insane, wotlk is just the natural progression from tbc, not an entirely new endgame.

The 10 man for the raids was for casual players and the 25 was for more hard core you shouldent be able to clear all of the stuff right away you need the gear i think blizz made it to easy
