The developers behind Limbo of the Lost has been found out stealing assets from numerous of games, including World of Warcraft.
It all started over at GamePlasma, where they discovered that Limbo of the Lost had stolen from The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.
It quickly escalated and now there's numerous of news and forum threads across the net where there's further screenshot proof showing that all the following games had assets stolen from them:
- World of Warcraft
- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
- The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
- Unreal Tournament 2004
- Unreal Tournament 2003
- Diablo II
- Thief: Deadly Shadows
- Crysis
- Silent Hill 4: The Room
- Return to Castle Wolfenstein
- Painkiller
- Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
- World of Warcraft
Tri Synergy has discontinued distribution of Majestic's Limbo of the Lost after they got the news about this.
In a statement they say "Tri Synergy is just as shocked as everyone else is by the recent screenshot comparisons. At no point during our dealings with Majestic Studios up until the point that the comparison was first publicly made by a third party did we have any knowledge of these similarities."
This brings plagiarism to a whole new level. Pretty crazy and it's almost borderline to funny, how could they possibly think they could get away from this? There's even proof in one of the forum threads listed in this article that they stole scenes from Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean.
