The legendary rune blade Frostmourne was immortalized in Warcraft III, in which it was taken up by Prince Arthas Menethil, corrupting him and leading to his transformation into the Lich King. We've partnered with EPIC Weapons to create a limited edition replica of the blade in all its horrific glory. This artifact of ancient evil is over 47" long and 12.5" wide, weighing a massive 16 lbs., and is now available for pre-order. For more information, please visit the Frostmourne replica site.
Daily Blue Posts
This is a summarized list of all interesting blue posts within the last couple of days.
WotLK is not going to need Vista / Graphic Upgrade
The Expansion is not going to require users to upgrade to Vista. We have some things in the works on the end of graphics, but it's not anything that is going to require this specific upgrade.
Druids and balance
A balance druid is essentially a ranged DPS class.
There are other ranged DPS classes
People who are looking for groups for PvE or PvP will have preferences over which roles need filled and which classes they wish to fill those roles.
I think the fact that there are any balance druids filling any of these roles proves that they can be just as viable as other ranged DPS classes; the difference, I suspect, is that those balance druids in those roles have worked hard to prove their worth rather than simply expecting a slot "because it's not fair".
A restoration druid, on the other hand, has a unique type of healing which is regularly sought, and occasionally required, by many groups.
Feral druids can fill two different roles, so I would be interested to see which of those were chosen for their tanking abilities and which were chosen for their melee DPS abilities. Regardless of those numbers, there are less classes that can fill the role of melee DPS so logically speaking we would expect more druids to be chosen for those positions.
Water issue with OS X 10.5.2 with Leopard Graphics Update
A couple of us spent all day figuring this one out, and it should be fixed in an upcoming build. The fog should look completely correct and a lot more natural underwater as well.
Tournament STAGE 3 Started
Last night's update initiated stage 3 of the arena tournament test.
During this phase existing arena team members are locked and can not be changed.
New arena teams that are created will still be able to be changed.
Vista 64bit update
The PTR downloaders have been updated in the hopes of resolving this issue. Please let us know if anyone is still having problems with Vista after last nights patch (8063).
Pain Suppression and silence
This is a bug fix. Pain suppression is a spell and should be disabled by silence.
2.4 game optimizations
The gnome speaks truth. There is also a number optimizations in the game engine that may help with overall performance and FPS. The changes are a bit too numerous to list. I lurk the Test forums to see how the changes are playing out.

Shadow Priests and PvP
I do pretty well in battlegrounds with mine, but if I'm going to want to be viable in higher end competition then I would be well advised to respec. That isn't to say that shadow priests won't one day be more viable than they are now in PvP, or that changes may not come for other specs to help them become more viable. The point is that not every spec for every class should be expected to be as viable as the next for each aspect of the game.
I'll qualify this statement and say that this is our general take on spec viability for now, and isn't necessarily intended to be taken as the end all look at spec comparisons in various aspects of the game for all future balance and development. That possibly was not made as clear as it should have been in my original post in the other thread, and certainly not very clear in this one.
Changes to Bloodlust is not a bug
This is not a bug, it is intended functionality to prevent a bug (players getting stuck in geometry when they grow).
Changes to inspect
This is a new change that didn't make it into the patch notes yet.
You can inspect anyone who you can not currently engage in combat with. So players in sanctuary areas such as Shattrath or if you and the other player are both un-flagged for PVP.
No plans to allow upgrading of Legendary items
We have covered this before, but we don't currently have plans to provide upgrades for Legendary items. All items are meant to have their limits of power, even Legendary ones.
Changes to Cyclone intentional
This was an intended change to Cyclone. It should be in the patch notes but it looks like it hasn't been added yet.
