Blizzard announced last night that they're now accepting PayPal as a payment option for World of Warcraft subscriptions.
We're pleased to announce that we're now able to accept PayPal payments for World of Warcraft subscriptions. Both current and new subscribers can now assign their PayPal account as their automatic payment method on the Account Management page. If you wish to open a PayPal account or want to learn more about the popular online payment system, the PayPal website has the details.
This is great news for players who have come to enjoy the freedom and ease-of-use that online payment systems provide.

not having a problem and not having the option are not the same at all, I originally was planing on using paypal to pay for my subscription but since the choice was not there and time cards where also delayed for the frist month and a half I had to use my credit card, as well on a additional note credit cards have a administrative fee for the company accepting payment on them and don't think that the little time cards are made out of thin air.
So in the end I have to agree wth Clokwork and GSCyanBloodbane, a little slow and took too long getting a agreement together.
Imo the reason that Blizzard didn't use Paypal in the beginning is because of the hidden charges you are not subjected to and they are. You see, much like ebay takes an auction fee, Paypal takes a fee everytime you sell something. This fee isn't fixed and varies so think about how much money would be going through Paypal and NOT ending up in Blizzards hands.
The administrating body of Paypal Europe recently change and I am aware that the old body were just problem makers. Perhaps that has something to do with it.
Blizzard aren't slow on the uptake either. 9,000,000 didn't have a problem with not having Paypal :-)
most likly blizz and paypal debated over particulars of the contact and all that stuff. i mean pay pal is like a credit card the store using it has to pay on every transaction.

It makes it so much easier now to pay for it. Why not in the beginning? Leave it to Blizzard to answer that.
