I honestly didn't think it was this bad, but the fine folks over at the Fires of Heaven forums have proven me wrong with some screenshots of recent "hacking" done on many US realms.
Apparently a certain unnamed gold farming website is employing a new type of spamming in-game. It's hard to believe, but they're literally spelling the URL of their website out in dead gnome corpses in the middle of Ironforge, by hacking the client and flying into the air, then dropping from the sky - falling to their deaths. There are several different sources for this; the FoH thread I mentioned above and two threads on the official forums - one in General and one in Customer Service.

i think it shows they getting desperate to advertise now that blizz have prevented 90% of there spam ads thru whispers.
This is without question one of the wierdest things I have encountered in the 2 years I have been playing this crazy game. At least the spam was creative this time.
Best use of gnomes I've heard of in a while. :)
