Interview with Lords of the Dead, 12yr old guild

Lords of the Dead have played nearly every MMORPG in their 12 year history, spanning from Dark Sun Online to Ultima Online, to more recent games including WoW and City of Villains. Year after year, they've looked for the competitive (PVP) aspects in every game they've joined. Read this exclusive interview to learn about what goes into leading a guild with this type of longevity.

Ever heard of MUDs? Nah... You probably don't even know why "proc" and "mob" are called exactly like this.

  • #2

i'm sorry all your guilds have sucked so bad you had to leave?

  • #3

Lord of the Who???? never heard of them.

    Whoopdie doo.

    Slow news day

I actually raided in EverQuest on a 56k modem for the first year and a half or so that I played the game. Man do I not regret switching to broadband one bit.

  • #6

Yeah and this guild sucks at every single one.

I played on the same servers as them for WoW and City of Heroes.

    I congratualte them for being able to stay together that long. A lot of guilds nowadays dont last that long, and never progress as a whole to another MMO. Of course they more then likely lost members to different games and Real Life situations but hey **** happens. To adress that differently though, LORDS said in the interview;

"LotD usually has 2 to 3 gaming chapters open at any given time, and so it gives our membership the option to play the game that best suits their tastes or schedules".

That has probablly been the biggest reason why they have succeeded and not toppled.. "Having multiple chatpers" is what must have kept their interest as a guild. Ive been in numerous gaming guilds in my time of playing MMO's and such and all have fallen apart, except for a few.

Dependability and you know the personalities of the players you play with. My current guild is 6 years old.

    Its pretty fun~

For a second, i thought this was about interviewing a 12yr old guild LEADER..having a WoW tag and all..

As for the interview itself... meh, so what. I don't know why anyone would want to stay around with the same guild for 12 years, and follow them across different MMOs.

Omg, did the first MMO come 1995?? 56k modem raid ftl? But I guess those MMO's were a bit different to modern standards.
