This Week In Hotfixes
In this thread, Tseric lists all of the recent hotfixes that have gone into the game. Take a look to see if some of your issues have been fixed!
So I have three different Arena teams, will I get a bunch of points?
In this thread, Tseric shares some information on this very question:
Arena points are awarded on a weekly basis, but will be tallied and awarded on Tuesday (during maintenance).
The award amounts have been adjusted slightly and break down in the following fashion:
5v5 matches will award a full allotment of arena points.
3v3 matches will award 80% of the allotment.
2v2 matches will award 60% of the allotment.
Later in the thread he adds:
I am wrong about point gain. So very, very wrong. Apologies.
The charter with highest rating awards arena points for the week.
Resistances in 5-person instances?
In this thread, a player asks if resistance-specific items will be required for 5-person instances, and Tseric responds:
Wouldn't worry about it to much. By running quests or various five-person encounters, the damage types from creatures will change so much, that trying to keep up with resistance gear for all of the possible encounters will simply fill up your bank or bags. Resistance gear sees more effect for particular raid dungeons or encounters that a group is trying to progress through. Such is the case for Molten Core, where building a Dark Iron armor set would be preferred for a Main Tank and many folks in the group might want to have a healthy amount of fire resistance.
Will there be a Spectator Mode for Arenas?
In this thread, Nethaera responds to the question:
We would love to have a way for others to be able to spectate arena matches. It's something we are looking into but don't have any more on that at this point in time. We realize that being able to cheer on your favorite team or your guildmates is always something people want to be able to do we just need to decide on how best to make something like that happen.
Polymorph and other CC not reduced in the Arenas like planned?
In this thread, Nethaera comments on the question, regarding the previously planned reduction in Crowd Control abilities for the Arenas:
It's the same as in any PvP situation. CC doesn't work in PvP quite the same as it does in PvE already. It hasn't changed anymore than that though.
Trouble turning in Arena Charters
In this thread, Nethaera explains what to do to turn in your Arena Charter to form your Arena team:
Some players are having problems turning in their charter if it is not in a slot in their main backpack. Try putting it there since it seems that is where the system is looking for it.
Crumpled Note(Onyxia quest chain) bugged for Draenei characters?
In this thread, Drysc responds to let players know this is a known issue:
This is a known issue and is set to be resolved in a future patch. Until that time it will not be possible for Draenei characters to receive the note necessary to continue the quest. Sorry. :\

Arena Team Flags?
In this thread, a question about the Arena tabards is brought up, and Drysc responds why the flags don't display team-specific logos and colors:
The flags are intended to distinguish teams during the matches and I don't believe we have any intent to allow them to replace the one you wear while in a match. There could be teams with matching flags, or similarly colored flags and the possibility for confusion and error isn't something we want to add in for pure aesthetics.
We do have the flags in-mind for future features, but nothing concrete we could discuss as of yet.
Comments
Yeah made sence of it eventually.... the 60% 80% 100% is applied before picking the highest rating as well.
Correct, Aeryn. You only get the points from the team that generates the highest points for the week.
From what I understand, the way arena points are awarded is very simple: no matter how many teams you are a part of, only the one that gives you the most points in a given week will add to your total.
For example: My 5v5 team gets 2314 points My 3v3 team gets 145 points My 2v2 team gets 3257 points. I get 3257 points for the week.
Now, I could be misinterpreting the posts, but I think that's how it works.

Sooo confused about arena points atm but lol
My pleasure, I'm glad it's helpful. :)
Just wanted to say I LOVE the new concept of summarizing Blue posts..it is extremely helpful. Thanks!
