The Burning Crusade release is coming up the middle of this month, and even with all the images, videos and previews out there of the expansion people still can't seem to get enough of WoW:TBC. Whats more is that some people apparently will go to extreme lengths to make sure they have a copy of the game expansion the very first day at all costs.
An example of this is the Collector's Edition of The Burning Crusade. It contains the game discs on both CD and DVD, a DVD of behind-the-scenes material, a hardcover artbook, an exclusive in-game pet, WoW Trading Card Game starter packs w/ exclusive cards, a Map of Outland mousepad and a soundtrack CD.
Apparently there is a big shortage of this pack according to Ebay where you will find the TCE at insane prices such as shown below.
Copies of the Collector's Edition of WoW: The Burning Crusade are being sold for 150 USD, or even up to a shocking 400+ USD. Regardless of the tag, it is still way higher than the listed official price of 79.95 USD.
The question is, is TBC:CE worth that much money? Post your opinions here!

you need to be a total idiot to buy it
some people really need a life
It's way to expansive but Blizzard f'd up tbh. If there's so much question for, but they cant supply the demand. Then they're losing profit. Simple as that. And well u cant blame ppl for trying to make an extra buck out of this.. But the price, lol COKEPRICES.
I have WOW Coll.Ed. from 2004. It's a nice package but most of it was broken out by Blizzard and sold seperately. The only thing that remained exclusive was the ingame pet and WOW 1.0 on DVD....oh yea, and the map. Ingame pet is a nice novelty that always turns a few heads. The map I have never taken out of the box. WOW on DVD.....*shrugs* nothing special really. The artwork on the Coll.Ed. CDs/DVD is nice and it's full color and different than the regualr retail CDs.
As for the BC Coll.Ed...... I'm sure sooner or later Blizzard will break out the music CD and the art book like the did with the 1st Coll.Ed. and those two are probably what most people will really want from it anyways. And if I'm not mistaken, the ingame pet in BC Coll.Ed. will be limited to a single character which makes it much less of a novelty compared to the ingame pet from the 1st Coll.Ed. Each toon created in the 1st one will recieve the choice of ingame pet...not just a single toon.
I won't go out of my way this time to get the Coll.Ed. If I happen to come upon one at regualr retail, I would consider buying it but I would NEVER buy it for more than that. It would just be another big box of stuff sitting on my shelf that I never look at.
Interestingly enough there are still shops in Europe that have CE editions that have not been preordered yet.
I went into my local game store and checked on wednesday and they had between 10-15 unclaimed.
I think the shortage is really US only, looks like stock allocation went slightly askew
