This is probably the best site i've encountered. And i've tried allakhazam, gamepressure and thottbot nothing compares to the constructive comments and very helpfull. Not the usual garbage you'll see "i've soloed i've powened" comments.
They have a Client which works in the background collecting the loot stat and drop rates for the site's database. Uploaded manually and little memory footprint.

It has been updated, Thott releases updates to the site, uploader and addon and it continues to get plenty of data and comments. I am never without what I am in search of there. What are you looking for, some radical site changes and fluff? Why? It works as it is.
@Gryphon: Let's face it, Thottbot is deprecated and hasn't been (or so) updated in 2 years.
No thanks, I will continue to use Thottbot. Reinventing the wheel and adding a flashy hubcap to capitalize on someone else's success is not enough to kill my brand loyalty.
Wowhead is awesome. I have been usingit since Firefox came onto the official WoW forums and introduced his better-then-Blizzard's talent calculator. I have been using it since when they were testing there upload program. It is just a better site. It runs better, is more visually appealing, is not spammed to death with moronic people talking in the comment boxes, it is ad-less (at least for me. I use Firefox to block most ads anyway so I am not sure if they are there or not ^^). Download there upload program and help them out.
Oh, and to comment on the lack of character profiles. They seem to have it in development but, most people seem to use ctprofiles.com anyway so, I cant say I miss it a ton.
I just love sorting things by name/level/class or whatever and not having to wait for the webpage to reload :)
I love wowhead a ton, it's a great website, looks good, loads fast, and all in all doesn't suck.
Also, I'm a bit confused about the story title- They're going to implement a database? Aren't they already using a database? Unless they store all that info in flat files :P
So, what made you rename it from "better than Thottbot"? It is. Thottbot is not only owned by a gold selling scumbag company it hasn't evolved much above and beyond the basics that have been in there since the beginning. If you don't want to say it, I will - Wowhead is the wise choice if you are against gold sellers and for progression in WoW related websites. Just as Curse is an improvement (and miles better than them, pretty much from the beginning) over some of the sites owned by gold farmers.
I have tried to use Thottbot , how do u get the thottbot interfaces to work, I have tried loading them bu tnot sure what I am doing wrong
i was sceptical at first since i'm a huge thottbot fan but I actually think its pretty nice.
Just needs a few more option that thottbot has and I might actually use it. I've never really had a problem with thott slowness.
