Job Description
Job Title: Creative DirectorReports to: Vice President of Programming
FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Marketing
Location: Huntsville
SUMMARY:
Develops concepts and plans, designs, and directs development and production of promotional and marketing materials.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develops and assists in designing concepts for assigned product lines including but not limited to product, packaging, catalogs, and promotional/collateral materials.
- Translate high-level objectives and design principles into interaction flows, information architecture diagrams and ultimately visual designs.
- Work collaboratively and iteratively with talented product managers, editorial, engineering, marketing and ad operations to define great user experiences while facilitating a high quality, consistent visual aesthetic.
- Contribute to ideation and concept development and communicate visual design concepts.
- Directs the production of artwork for concept and product design.
- Assists in development of marketing concepts and campaigns.
- Reviews, approves, and presents designs to client and/or other appropriate manager for approval.
- Interfaces with appropriate departments to determine most cost-effective methods for creating new products.
- Interfaces with appropriate departments to coordinate creative activities and schedules.
- Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops creative staff; manages schedules and workflow.
- Offers problem-solving strategy and creative options/solutions to designers and production artists.
- Creates a collaborative atmosphere between creative team and other employees.
- Develops, implements, and maintains procedures that enhance the efficiency of the creative team.
- Develops and maintains knowledge of new creative techniques and trends, consumer buying trends, and technology changes.
- Leads brainstorming sessions.
- Attends conventions, conferences, and trade shows as needed.
- Researches and recommends design solutions for product and packaging development.
- Plans and oversees workload for outside freelancers as needed; recruits additional freelance artists.
- Negotiates pricing with outside vendors.
- Develops and monitors project creative budgets.
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
SKILLS:
- Mastery in Adobe Creative, especially Photoshop/Illustrator
- Expert knowledge in best practices of UX and UI design
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Great management and organizational skills.
- Strong interest in MMORPGs and video games.
- Excellent people skills.
- Strong listening and communication abilities.
- Strong team player.
- Strong visual communication skills with a dedication to detail and consistency
- Strong visual design and product development skills
- .NET/Visual Studios experience a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5+ years of professional Design/UX/UI/Product fields.
- 1+ years of management experience.
