About CityWorld

CityWorld

The great outdoors is all good and fine but sometimes you just want to go to town. Not any town will do, how about one that goes on forever or multiple ones separated by the largest mountains possible in MineCraft. But what is under those mountains? There is an entire world to explore, have fun!

  • Tested against Bukkit 1.5.1-R0.2
  • BETA version of the furniture generators... a lot more to do but here ya go :-)
  • Added interior building furnishings
  • Added interior building walls
  • Added a lot of new stair styles
  • Still no furniture in the Houses, Bunkers or Sheds
  • Added latest Minecraft materials
  • Added ForceLoadWorldEdit for those of you who are using beta versions of WorldEdit, set it to true to skip version testing
  • Incorporated PhatLoots fixes by SpaceRibs (https://github.com/echurchill/CityWorld/commit/dad7faeb0712243e24be4fac0e73318d4dee2655)
  • Fixed some WorldEdit pasting issues
  • Fixed loads of other bugs

Personal note

While I will attempt to fix any bugs that pop up in the schematics support, this will be the last major release for a while. My day job is finally ramping up and it will be keeping me very busy for the foreseeable future.

Index of useful info

Heads up!

This plugin really "tests" MineCraft/Bukkit when it comes to complex worlds. In fact when you spawn/teleport into a new CityWorld (or some wildly new location) it takes a while for all of the blocks to generate. This is especially obvious if you are flying around. Once the blocks are generated though everything works just fine. What I recommend is take a tour of your new world and just walk/fly up to each "uninitialized chunk" until everything shows up.

    nice world generator man! :P

There is only on thing I don't  like about this plugin. The cities seem to lonely. If you are only playing with a few friends then the city seems incredibly lonely. There should also be some source of lighting in the buildings. They are too dark and sometimes spawn monsters in them which is not good if you are trying to survive in one. Other than that though it is a great plugin. I plan to use this with some of my friends.

I took a break from interior generation and implimented automatic pasting of WorldEdit/MCEdit building schematics. It is turning out nicely but now I need a lot of schematics. :-( :-)

When I get back to interiors I will continue my effort to spruce them up but that will have to wait until after I get v2.0 out.

Ps sorry for the bad spelling i was writing it at night and i was about to pass out. This is the best world gen mod out there i love it because it can be used for so many things a rollplay a zombie city a warzone or just an adventure for you and your mates the loot in sewers is really fun to try and find i spend so long looking for all the chests and it was fun due to the apawners in the rooms so you are never far from a fight but lets just say im never going down in real life XD

  • #14

    Glad you like it

  • #10

I am using this mod for a zombiesurvival server and i want the loot in chests to respawn is this sothing i can do or would it have to be dot by you i have looked in the config and i bet i have missed somthing but even so can you tell me what must be done?

  • #15

The OP command /CityBlock has an argument that allows for chunk regeneration. If you regenerate a chunk, any chests inside the chunk should repopulate... I think :-)

  • #7

Thank you for this mod. Could we maybe have an option to generate minor chest rewards perhaps inside buildings (default off). I am using this as a zombie city currently and think it would add another level of danger, especially since I have most forms of player-created light disabled. I love the overall feel and design on the city layout.

Once I get back to interior generation I will give it a shot. Glad you like the mod

    Re: CityWorld AGAIN!!

And I could blow my friends away with the mod, they are always outdoing my mod suggestions. :P

  • #4

Can you make a version of this for single player, I want one and I also want a ity to blow up. (SORRY, HABIT) I like blowing stuff up, this mod sounds good, but I wish it was on SP worlds, so don't feel unappreciated. Reply to me at my email that I will message you. I think there are messages, am new.

    Cya,

I agree, please make this SSP too.

  • #8

I didn't even know this board existed. Hum... SSP will have to wait until the Mojang folks release the SSP/Server version of Minecraft. Maybe after 1.3 is released.

  • #3

oops, readed the topic again, got it now. let's test it

  • #2
    How does it works?

I pasted the cityworld.jar in the plugins folder, configured the config.yml, but when i start a new world it isn't a city. Do you need to find the city first or do you spawn in it?
