Welcome to another World of Warcraft add-on spotlight! In this issue we are covering Sayge, by Vladinator.
The Addon

Darkmoon Faire has arrived once more! The island has everything: a creepy forest, tons of mini-games, a rock concert every our and even a death mach arena! But, if you are more interested in improving your PVE or PVP performance, then there is another attraction you might be more interested in: Sayge, the fortune-teller.
This little gnoll has the ability to give the player a buff which raises one of his stats by 10%, for 2 hours. The stat to be improved is selected according to your answers to a series of questions made by Sayge. While entertaining, the conversation dialog can turn to be a nuisance when you only want the buff.
Then you might want to try Sayge, named after the infamous gnoll. This add-on does just one simple thing: it replaces the answers to Sayge's questions by the stats that they provide. Enjoy!

Interview
We also had the opportunity to have a chat with the add-on's author, Vladinator:
Why did you decide to create an add-on specific to a single NPC? Do you spend all your days at Darkmoon, just to get the buff?
Actually, I believe not many use Sayge for buffs anymore, not like before at least. I am not sure if this is because not many know that he gives buffs at all, or if it's just too boring to look up what combination gives which effect, so I decided to publish an add-on for others to use.
I fortunately do not spend all my time at Darkmoon, but it's a very good addition to get Sayge blessing when he is around. A fortune cookie ain't that bad either, it may make me smile.
Did you come across any problems during development?
Not really, at first I used the localized NPC names but later, I updated it to use Sayge's ID - so no issues, it's such a small amount of code that there isn't a lot of ways this can go wrong.
Could you tell us about any other mods you are working on, or have planned for the future?
I've worked mostly on MiniLoot lately, seems the new patch brought a lot of changes that I had to address. My Battle Pet Tabs addon is new, but is not much popular for now, since the battle system isn't out yet. I suspect it will become more popular later on, as now there isn't any demand for mods like this.
I don't have plans for future addons, I've been updating my Candy Buckets addon to this years Hallow's End - need to prepare and have it ready for when people are going Candy Bucket hunting!
Do you have any advice for others who would like to start modding?
Check out the first steps at wowpedia.org and wowprogramming.com - they both have a lot of useful information, and API listing is equally important. The important thing is to have the motivation and will to sit down and make basic code to do basic things, doesn't have to be big.
Like Sayge, it's small but does what it's supposed to do. Don't bite more than you can chew, it's easy for many when they first start doing this and it can scare them away when it get's too complicated. In short: keep trying and take small steps in the beginning, that should get you going.
Thank you to Vladinator for answering our questions and developing this add-on.
