Welcome to the weekly Minecraft Plugin Spotlight! In this issue we are covering "DreamLand", a plugin created by Naitsirhc_Hsem.

No longer will players have to lie in their bed waiting for the night to end. When this server plugin is installed they will be able to dream instead!
Right after players go to sleep they will get teleported to the Dreamworld - but be warned, one can fall asleep and enter into a nightmare, as well!

The Dreamworld consists of countless islands floating in the sky and is generated by the SkylandsPlus+ plugin. It is also a very peaceful world, since there are no hostile mobs spawning anywhere. Of course it would not be a dream if there were!
When you arrive in the Dreamworld you can set a spawn point anywhere. The Dreamworld has the same theme as the Overworld and you will be able to build just as usual. Your creations will still be there the following night and your inventory will be persistent as well. On top of that, you are invulnerable! Only when you fall off an island, into the void, will you die and wake up immediately. To make things easier you will be able to fly, by using only a feather. This feather will not be given to you, so you will have to find one first.

The flying system is provided by a separate plugin called "Smooth Flight", created by Naitsirhc_Hsem as well. Smooth Flight works quite different from the default flight mode; rather than using the jump and sneak keys and your mouse all you need for Smooth Flight is your mouse. Just point where you want to go and press the right mouse button to start flying! To stop flying all you have to do is release the button and you will fall down immediately.

As mentioned before it also possible you will end up in a nightmare when you go to sleep. When this happens you will burn, fall into the Nether and wake up immediately upon hitting the ground.

DreamLand is quite customizable, here is a selection of settings that can be changed or toggled to suit your needs:
- Persistent inventory
- Invulnerability (Can also be used to prevent dying in nightmares)
- Flying
- Environment theme (Image below shows a Nether type Dreamworld)
- World generator
- Chance of mobs getting spawned

The following plugins are required for some of DreamLand's features to work properly:
- [Server] SkylandsPlus+ - For generating the Dreamworld
- [Server] Smooth Flight - For flying in the Dreamworld
DreamLand offers a fun alternative to the default sleeping system. Players can do anything in the Dreamworld without affecting the "real" world. Plenty of settings can be configured as well to suit your preferences.
Lastly, we also had the chance to ask Naitsirhc_Hsem a few questions. Check out the interview below to find out more about the development of this plugin!
What inspired you to create this plugin?
robin0van0der0v created a skylands plugin in early 2011. After a little while he stopped updating it and the users (including me) were struggling to use it with the latest builds. I had programmed in java before and started learning how to write bukkit plugins. Since robin0van0der0v released the source, I was quickly able to learn how it worked. I posted links to my "remix" in the main thread comments. After a huge number of the users started using my version (it was up to date and had bug fixes), I moved it to a new thread. Over the course of several weeks the userbase exploded, and with it the number of feature requests. DreamLand became more than a simple teleportation plugin, it became an experience.
How was your plugin received by the public at its initial release?
Originally, I just wanted to help robin0van0der0v improve his plugin. The idea of it becoming a seperate plugin was a suggestion by users. The users have driven the features and flow of the plugin since I forked it from the original.
What is your favourite part of the plugin?
That's an interesting question. I think my favorite part is flying through a dream. My favorite dreams are the few where I can fly. The feature became so popular, I split it into a new plugin, SmoothFlight.
Are you working on any other plugins or updates at the moment?
Besides the few I have for personal use, I maintain bouncybeds. It is a whimsical plugin that turns beds and giant mushrooms into trampolines.
Many thanks to Naitsirhc_Hsem for developing this plugin and for participating in our interview!

Is there a single player version? I would SO love that!
