DAR Artillery Sight - WoT Mod Spotlight

Welcome to this week’s World of Tanks mod spotlight and interview! Featured this week is the DAR Artillery Sight, created by Adiya and meltyMAP.

This mod is a must have for any fans of artillery or new players wanting to master it. The tools provided are extremely helpful at all levels of play and should not be overlooked.

The main feature of the mod is the addition of a Traverse Indicator when in artillery “tactical” mode. This traverse indicator allows you to see exactly how far your barrel is situated to the left or right in relation to the front of your tank. Normally, in order to see how close you are to maximum traverse you would need to look at the bottom damage panel or scroll far enough over that your aiming reticle no longer follows you. With the mod you get a very clear indicator next to your aiming reticle enabling you to preemptively adjust your tank and be on target for that moving target that was just moving out of your arc.

This mod also provides an Angle of Fire indicator, a frequently overlooked feature. This indicator shows you exactly how elevated your barrel is, allowing you to better judge what angle your shell will leave your tank and thus the likely angle that it will fall at. This information can be vital when firing on targets that are tucked by buildings, on slopes, or behind cover.

In addition to these lovely features, this mod offers:

  • Time to Target Indicator, giving you a general idea on how long your shell will take to travel to your current target based on elevation and distance.
  • Time to Reload Indicator, allowing you to see exactly how long is left on your current reload, as well as listing how long your reload will normally take.

Here is a quick video displaying the mod in action!

Big thanks to Adiya and meltyMAP for developing this extremely useful mod!

Make sure you pick it up here!

Special note for patch 7.4:

Patch 7.4 made some mods not work entirely correct. This mod still works in 7.4, however:

  • The range finder may be slightly off.
  • The Traverse Indicator will not initially display, press "v" twice in game to make it appear.
