Hello fellow tankers! This week for the World of Tanks mod spotlight we take a look at the eXtended Visualization Mod lite, created by sirmax2 and iBat.
Keeping with the theme of visual improvements I present you the eXtended Vizualization Mod, often referred to as XVM. This round we are looking at the “lite” version which provides the majority of features that you will want to take advantage of. From the very basic installation of this mod you will get:
- Enhanced overtarget markers, providing a clearer visualization of each tanks health and type.
- Floating combat text, detailing the damage each tank receives as it happens.
- Clan icons next to the tank contours for most major Ultimate Conquest clans.
- A clock on the opening load screen to remind you it is way past your bed time.
Not satisfied with the basic configuration? Well you are in luck! We have a special Configurations section where many players have started uploading their own custom configurations, including Curse’s very own Nagatron. All you need to do is download their XVM configuration and replace your current one with it, nice and easy.
Still not satisfied with the available configurations? My, my, aren't we picky? Good! That's exactly why this mod was made to be easily customized through one of the many available third party tools. XVM Editor for example allows you to adjust every color, distances between text and icons, removing post mortem effects, loading screen features, all through a simple slide bar and check box interface.
Here is a sample video so you can see XVM’s overtarget markers and scrolling combat text in action with a bit of tank on tank brawling!
Big thanks to sirmax2 and iBat for creating this excellent mod, as well as SlowPony for keeping it updated.
Make sure you tune back in next Sunday when we will take a look at the full version of XVM which introduces player statistics right at your fingertips!
Also make sure you stop by Curse’s all World of Tanks youtube channel, The War Hall, to catch some great e-sports action with North America’s first World of Tanks Classic tournament.
