Welcome to the World of Tanks mod spotlight, this week we take a look at TrapSense, a 6th Sense mod created by our very own Nagatron!
The Mod
“Sixth Sense,” for those of you newer to the updated crew perks, will alert you to being spotted after a short 3 second delay. Currently, our happy little commanders will alert you via a nice bright light bulb above your tank. Not satisfied with the plain default alert? Me too! So let me introduce you to my favorite Sixth Sense mod, TrapSense:

IT’S A TRAP!
Yes my friends, enjoy this amazing reskin of the sixth sense alert to every ones favorite rebellious fish man, Admiral Ackbar from the Star Wars films. In addition to being extremely awesome, this mod makes your 6th Sense indicator far more visible with out being obtrusive, making sure that you do not miss that crucial warning.

I grabbed Nagatron for a quick interview to see how you can go about creating your own Sixth Sense mods:

What would you say the difficulty level was for creating this mod? Not too hard. I spent quite a while in Photoshop making sure I was happy with the graphic itself, but aside from that it was a simple operation to make it a mod. What special tools did you need? I used SoThink Flash Decompiler as I'd heard that one worked best for this particular file. Can you give a description of the types of steps it took to create it? Came up with the idea, made the graphic then simply copied it into the flash file right over the original sixth sense icon and then tested/tweaked it until I was happy with the end result. Any advice for those looking to dabble in modding? Search all of the available forums for info on what you're looking to do. EU and RU are typically the best mod forums for that kind of information with the latter having the obvious language barrier, but Google translate works well enough most of the time. After that my only real advice is obviously to upload it to curse.com! |
Huge thanks to Nagatron for creating this highly creative Sixth Sense mod and sitting down for some Q&A.
Keep an eye out for an upcoming contest to beat this epic creation, earn some gold, and get featured in a future spotlight!
