Welcome to the World of Tanks mod spotlight, this week we take a look at ReCo's Vertical Techtree created by ReConnaisance.
The Mod
For those of you that have been around since before the great 8.0 patch update, you will remember the classic style Tech Tree. This interface used vertical branching to show progression from one tank to the next in a very easy to read format as you can see below:
With the introduction of patch 8.0 came many overhauls to the interface and game systems, including a new horizontal tech tree. This tree has been widely criticized for it’s harder to read flow and excessive size, requiring players to scroll beyond the screen in order to see the entire tech tree. With no option to change it back to the classic view, our awesome community modders took up the task of getting everyone’s favorite tech tree view back.
The following video will take you on a quick tour of Reconnaisance’s new vertical tech tree, already featuring the recent British tech tree additions:
ReConnaisance took it a step further and has created many customizable options that you can download through his frequently updated thread, here. With these addons you can adjust the techtree button styles, change the layouts to different styles, and screen resolution fixes to move the tree so its more centered.
