About Deck Manager

Tired of Gear Manager bugging out? Being limited to very few slots for storing builds? Being forced to also store gear layout even though you use the same gear for multiple decks?

Well, here's the solution: Deck Manager.

Plain and simple it will allow you to save your own custom decks containing only your active and passive abilities. And there's no limit to how many you can create.

Simply click the icon which sort of looks like some cards and it will open up. The rest should make sense. :)

  • Fixed (hopefully!) the issue some were having with windows not getting created properly without reloading the UI first. Please report back if you had this issue and it's fixed so I can make the appropriate changes to my other add-ons, thank you. :)
  • Window will no longer grow on its own and can't get bigger than the screen resolution (well it can, it will just get its size reset the next time its opened).
  • New backup/restore feature (where the disabled options button used to be). This will allow you to get a complete chunk of text for all your decks, to store in a document on your computer, in case the preferences gets reset and you lose your decks. There's no real checks in the restore function, but you can't do a restore unless you actually haven't got any decks (just a slight precausion).
  • And added the chainsaw.

  • Fixed the error that caused the missing aux weapon to show for builds without any aux abilities in them.

  • Fixed so "Edit" no longer saves the abilities as well, but only name and comment.
  • Fixed keyboard input getting messed up after having opened windows with input fields in them (seems to be a problem with the CLIK controls which apparently sort of stay active despite not being so). Reverted to normal input fields - might make my own later.
  • Fixed "Edit" not getting into the undo stack.

  • Entirely new UI - it now fits with the TSW UI.
  • You need to double-click a deck in the list to load it now.
  • Added a context menu for decks by pressing right mouse button on a deck in the list.

  • Undo button added to allow you to undo different actions.
  • It's now possible to update a deck's abilities with your current ones.
  • Added ability to add comments for decks. These will show up in tooltips when hovering over a deck in the list.
  • Shows FIFO status messages about what's going on.
  • It will no longer try to equip abilities you don't have. Instead a window is shown with a list of the abilities you're missing when you load it.
  • Works with patch 1.2 and Auxiliary weapon abilities.
  • When patch 1.2 hits it will still be able to import pre-1.2 decks.
  • Entirely new data structure for storing the decks which is ready for the coming features I plan on adding. Your old decks are converted automatically to this new data structure.

  • Should hopefully better hook onto the compass now.
  • Now suports the Topbar Information Overload Add-on Manager.
  • New icon!!! ;)

Please note: If you use this together with the new Add-on Manager in Topbar Information Overload you will have to slot the icon into position before it shows up. You do this through the Add-on Manager by Shift + clicking Deck Manager in the list and assigning it a slot.

    I am having an issue after downloading this where this addon will not load the weapon swaps with the decks? Is this some feature I glossed over the description of?

    It registers what decks use which weapons with the icons on the list, but any attempt to change decks gives me to error text: "You do not have the right weapons equipped for this deck"

    I don't see any obvious options that would have me toggling the weapon equips seperately from the rest of the decks so I am wondering if this is a bug or some sort of conflict with another addon...? I do use several, namely Topbar and Combat Statistics and Field Agent Locator.

    Would it be possible in future versions to load partial decks? What I mean is, say you saved a deck where you only had abilities saved in your 7th and 8th slots, with the rest empty. When you loaded that build, it would be awesome if the slots that were saved empty remained untouched, with whatever ability was there beforehand remaining.

    That should be possible. I think I'll add that so if you hold down Ctrl while loading a deck it will not overwrite with empty slots. :)

    Wouldn't the other way around make more sense? Since usually, you don't want the empty slots. So maybe hold control to force them to empty out?

    Is there any way to load builds from the command line? Kind of like "/vdm BUILD_NAME" or some such... The one thing gear manager does that I'd like in vdm is the ability to assign aliases to macros, as documented here:

    So not sure what I'm doing wrong, it's been ages since I've played, but I'm not seeing the deck manager, I have topbar installed, but it's not showing up there, I believe I installed it correctly... all the other addons I have are working, does this still work with the latest patch? Any ideas?

     EDIT: Nevermind... fixed it,, had to get rid of the old .xml stuff :) readme was useful... who'da thunk it :)

    really wouldnt be without this addon...

    i found a way around the window creeping upwards, just keep it scaled smaller and use the scrolling with the window. i still get old decks reappearing but cleaning it between toons seems to be a way around that.

    VDM strings fail me more often than not, when importing it gets an error. so i dont generally use it.

    all in all though its a great add on to have. i switch decks alot in dungeons and swap gear items by hand. pretty simple really. i have no faith in the original gear manager as it ate 3 items on me in the past.

    This doesn't really work as a replacement to the existing, faulty in-game gear manager until it contains gear as well as abilities.

    I actually prefer that it doesn't. It is easier storing a set of gear in it's own bag then swapping it out as needed then having to switch to every build that uses that set to save a new piece of gear.

    This add-on will never contain gear management as well. Instead I plan to make a separate add-on, like Deck Manager, that will handle gear and then have decks be able to link to gear setups, so when you change to a deck it will change to the specified gear setup as well.

    That will mean that people can use one or the other, if they choose, or use both and get the best of both worlds.

    Would there be an easier way to import builds between characters than copy and pasting build names, VDM strings, and notes?  Would be an awesome update, unless it's already there, then it would be awesome to know  how, thanks! :D

    You can do it with the new backup feature. There's not really a way for me to copy data between characters if I already store the data per-character (as I do with Deck Manager, because that makes the most sense).

    i was having the same issue with the window creeping upwards each time i opened it has decided that i can open it once easily and it appears in the middle of the screen. once closed, i cannot open it again without a /reloadui. troublesome in a dungeon when people are chatting about what to slot in and your chat log is refreshed due to the /reloadui.

    another issue i have found is in deleting old decks. i try to keep it tidy and even though all the decks seem to be shared across each character, i have tried to delete the old stuff only to find it back in the list by next log in. anything i can do to keep the important decks and remove the junk?

    also, curse client has never been able to handle its updates automatically... it tries to update at download stage then nothing happens. i have to update this manually.
