About Valyrie's Friends Enhanced
Valyrie's Friends Enhanced
VFE extends the original Friends menu by adding some much needed functionality like preferred player roles and personal notes about players. It will replace the standard Friends.swf file and will therefore not work with any other (possible) add-ons that does the same.
Donations
It takes a lot of time to develop an add-on, so if you really like this mod and want to support it then please consider donating any amount. Thank you!
What's new in this version
- Player information (notes, preferred roles and so on) is now being stored "per account" instead of "per character" as before, meaning that you will no longer need to sync this information between different characters as long as they all are on the same TSW account. If you want to get the notes to another account or PC then you still have to use the Export/Import feature in the Settings tab. Note: mod settings is still being saved "per character"
- Fixed a bug that stopped you from importing previously exported player information
- Support for Vipers They Come And Go mod. If you have that mod installed and set it to "slave mode" then it will handle the actual display of all the player log in/out announcements instead of my Friends mod. The benefits of this is that you can get more control of the message presentation (position, color, timestamp and such)
- Merged Friendsnotes and Cabalnotes (for the same player) so they always will show the same info no matter what tab you are in
- All players specifically set to being monitored for logging in will now have their login announcement in purple color to stand out more (assuming you are not using TCAG in slave mode)
- Code overhaul to make it more efficient and also easier to update in the future
Note: If you have several characters and know one of them has the most up to date player information (custom notes, preferred roles and similar) then you should log-in with this character first after installing this version, to minimize potential data migration problems. When this is done then you can log-in with any character in any order.
Current Features
- Add your personal notes for any Friend / Cabal member / Ignored player
- Allows you to set preferred roles (tank, DPS, healer) for any Friend or Cabal member
- A "Last seen" column that shows when Friends and Cabalmates was last seen being logged in (only visible when showing all players) Note: this data is NOT taken from the servers (it's not available) but rather checking who is online while you play yourself. So if anyone is online while you are not, then my mod has no way of detecting this. I know this isn't the optimal solution but it is the best we can get until Funcom implements so we can get the same info directly from the servers instead.
- All custom player information is stored "per account" and thus shared between all your characters on the same TSW account
- Support for notifying on screen when Friends and/or Cabals log in and/or out.
- Support sorting on all columns (makes it easy to find for example all friends with a preferred healer role)
- Support for batch Export/Import of player data between different characters
- Fixed the bug from the original Friends window where the right-click menu interacted with the wrong player if the list had been sorted
- Button to toggle between 'show all' or 'show only players online' for the Friends and Cabal view This setting is unique for each of the two views, thus you can have a different setting for each
- The last opened view is remembered and will be shown automatically next time you open the mod
- Views will remember their last used column sort
- The position of the VFE icon can be set to be anywhere on screen (function disabled if using the Viper Topbar mod)
- Support for resizing the window
- Remember last Window position on screen
- Count the number of days a player has been ignored (people can change). Old ignores can't be counted for apparent reasons!
- Optional 'Dimension' column for Cabal and Friends view (toggle in the settings tab)
- Optional 'Rank' column for Cabal view (toggle in the settings tab)
- Optional 'Region' column for Cabal view (toggle in the settings tab)
- Optional 'Society' column for Friends view (toggle in the settings tab)
- Added "Create Raid" and "Invite to/Remove from Raid" options to the context menu
- Integrates with Viper's Topbar Information Overload mod
- Integrates with Viper's They Come And Go mod
Installation
Unpack the .zip archive into <your Secret World Directory>\Data\Gui\Customized\Flash\ folder, overwrite if files already exists
It should look like this: \Data\Gui\Customized\Flash\Friends.swf \Data\Gui\Customized\Flash\FriendsProxy\CharPrefs.xml \Data\Gui\Customized\Flash\FriendsProxy\FriendsProxy.swf \Data\Gui\Customized\Flash\FriendsProxy\LoginPrefs.xml \Data\Gui\Customized\Flash\FriendsProxy\Modules.xml
If you had TSW running when copying these files, then you must quit the game completely and then restart it or the addon won't work properly!
Uninstall
Delete \Data\Gui\Customized\Flash\Friends.swf Delete the \Data\Gui\Customized\Flash\FriendsProxy folder
Usage
Simply press shift+f or use the "Friends" option in the game menu and you will see the new, enhanced interface.

I have recently started using this, but I have had an issue with it that is kind of defeating the purpose of keeping it. I'm sure that I'm not the only one who has had this issue, but I didn't see anyone talking about it. It seems like it just doesn't save any of the information on my friends or settings. If I set a note or select what roles the person has, it will just be wiped away after restarting the game. Same thing with any options in the settings. Even the resolution doesn't stay. I would like to continue using this addon since I can see how useful it could be, so it would be great if you could help me with this.
Well, it seemed to work itself out? Got back into the game this morning, and it finally started saving information. Didn't do anything different, so I'm not sure why it just decided it was going to work today. I'll let you know if it does start to do it again.
Just an FYI when you check your role in the cabal window it'll show shifted one to the left on other peoples and vice versa. Like if i click dps it shows to them as tank.
Can you give some more details on what the problem is, the description is a bit vague.
This mod doesn't sync data with "other" players.. or do you mean when export->import to another of your characters ?
I would like to make a request for an addition to this mod. It would be very good to be able to set a time zone for each of your friends (eg. GMT + 10). or probably even better, have a column with their local time. This would make things much easier for people with many international friends.
I use your addon along side "Vipers Friends List Sync Mod", it's okay and they both work fine together.
BUT, i would much rather have ONE addon that does it all PLUS sync all the extra information in your mod.
I'm especially missing the notes and the selected icons being synched!
Just signed into game this morning, and upon doing so it said "updating friends list", and one by one deleted everyone on my list except for 5 players o.O; I'm not sure what happened? Is there a way to get that back...or am I up the creek? That was very awkward and a little bothersome :-/
EDIT: Clicked the export button, and the entire friends list is there (even the deleted ones), but it refuses to update when I hit "import" any ideas?
Note: Any problems related to scaling/stretched window should be fixed with the 1.6 release. If you still somehow have weird looking window, then go to the "Settings" tab and manually change the scale width / height textboxes to something that looks good for you.

Installed FriendsList the other day, no problem. However, the settings read about Topbar Information Overload being found and that scaling was disabled, is that so and why? Then I tried to resize the window it snapped to such a small size it was impossible to read content. Uninstalled. Solutions?
Update about the exporting of friends list to alt:
So I decided I wanted the names to show up on my friends list without having to log into main, then alt, after the exporting process, so I just went to my main, wrote down all the names in a notepad, then went back to my alt (after exitting game, so it didn't auto show everyone as it is supposed too).
As I added people to my list, they actually popped up already with notes and type (tank/dps/healer), so it seems while it does export the info, it will not show up till you manually "add friend" for each name. Weird.0
For some reason, the mod window is streched vertically (I have a 4:3 LCD).
Figured out a work around for now! First I log into my main (one with the friend's list to start), then log out (not quit game, but log out), then log into my character I imported too. The friend's list seems to be loaded. I'm not sure why this is (my coding skills for flash are minimal at best), but this seems to fix the issue! Hope this helps in fixing it!
EDIT: This is still the case for 1.5.1
Awesome add on, but just made a new character, attempted to use import/export, but when I click "import" after pasting the code, none of my friends show up in the list >-< Any ideas?
EDIT: Strangely, when I click "export" in my alt, it shows the same code (all my friends and what have you), but it doesn't show them on the actual list (says 0/0 friends)
EDIT 2: Strangely enough, upon logging in this morning, it still seemed broke, but just opened up the friends list and all my friends were there, I suppose it just takes a few days to import properly? unsure.
EDIT 3: All the friends in my alt friends list are gone again, it reads 0/0. However, when I click export, the data still seems to be there (shows the export text for all the people I have. I'm not sure what this means, so if anyone knows, would be awesome! I've tried deleting and reinstalling the addon, no luck there.
Since updating to the most recent version , TSW only loads it's own default version , it was working before the update.
Just wanted to drop a quick thank you.
